Hat this is She rarely disappoints on any element the poor but plucky nurse the rich and powerful older Dutch doctor some excellent meals a tiny soup on of adventure in this case young boy with mumps heroine in empty house at Christmas On the other hand you really have to be in the mood for such a light concoction and I could barely force my eyes to keep trudging through this time But it s a classic Betty Nanny by Chance by Betty Neels35 stars Oh Dear God wails Oh my God This book was ust sooh God I love Betty Neels
SO MUCH AND DEAR GOD HOW
much and dear GOD how I missed her wails some The food the breath taking description of the scenery the unflappable calm of her heroes the sensibility of her heroines sigh She is one of the most talented authors I ve ever read I am so glad that I found her Reading her books is one of the simple pleasures of life Now this book while very much the same had something very different in it the heroine wasn t good at nursing even though she wanted to be a nurse But again the typical nanny plot was there with RDD and an evil OW and superb descriptions of food and cakes I even DREAMT about them I was reading the book before I slept and beautiful descriptions of the surroundings Neels stories make me want to before I slept and beautiful descriptions of the surroundings Neels stories make me want to to Holland so badly She is so amazing in the way she describes everything and so uniue in her grammar structure The heroine was really good and she wasn t as much of a doormat as some other BN heroines are I can t say I liked the OM plot very much but that was dealt with uickly so it s fine The hero was swoon worthy BN s heroes are always so amazing They all also have a special manner a way of talkingwalkingwatching that sets each of them out This one wore spectacles and looked at people from above them shiver I ve always found intelligent older men attractive The children were a delight with the non ending chatter and childish resilience The plot was also a good one Also I m probably giving this one 4 stars instead of 3 because I ve missed Betty so damned much. Handsome and kind that Mintie knows she's fallen in love But does Marcus want a wif. Ivate school While she is unhappy about her unreuited love for Marcus she enjoys her ob and hopes to get about her unreuited love for Marcus she enjoys her ob and hopes to get permanently Alas when school breaks for Christmas she is told the former matron is returning To prove Shakespeare s line that sorrows Come Not As Single Spies But In not as single spies but in she also gets a letter that her parents have left for Italy she calls home and learns the cousin will also be away over the holiday Poor Mintie will be alone with only Cherub the cat over ChristmasWhile she is accustoming herself to this sad fact Marcus suddenly appears He has is accustoming herself to this sad fact Marcus suddenly appears He has his DR and has arrived to save the day with his D PMintie is delightfully plucky but Marcus is rather a cardboard figure to me This book is too light on the romance IMHO even for TGB Not her worst but bottom third Araminta Pomfrey is finally able to start her own life Having older parents that are intellectual than practical Mintie has always taken care of the home An older cousin willing to move in and help has given her the opportunity to go to scgool to become a nurse Her parents though have accepted a position for her to act as a nanny for a doctor s twin nephews over in Holland and effectually halt her plansDr Marcus van der Breugh needs a nanny to care for his nephews while their parents are abroad for a few weeks At first meeting Mintie he assumes she will fit uietly in to his life fading in to the background but she always seems to be there confronting him He finds that he likes her and she really isn t as plain as he had originally thoughtAn excellent story Well written and romantic 1998I kept thinking I had read this before mixing up with another book in which the heroine had acted as nanny in Spain or Portugal I did not like this story much because the RDD did not treat our Mintie nicely He acted coolcold all the when he realised Mintie wasn t going to stay in the background he had plannedBut the last kiss scene made up for it all Sigh OMGdunno what to say Well if you re a fan of Betty Neels you know exactly Inds herself looking after the twin nephews of Dr Marcus van der Breugh Marcus is so. ,

The third time I read this book I should put 5 stars for this book Well really love Marcus van der Breugh and his MintieI remembered the first time I read this novel it was in 2000 I BROUGHT AND READ THIS WHILE VISITING MY I brought and read this while visiting my and her husband a Dutch dentist in their hotel The dentist asked what was the book I read and Explained Him The Synopsis Of The NovelFrom My Cousin S him the synopsis of the novelFrom my cousin s I know that Utrecht the city which become the setting of this novel was spelled U Trecht instead of Yu TrechtThe story itself were great But instead of having a marriage in convenient Marcus van der Breugh Quran Made Easy just realized that he loved Mintie at the end of the story the Not my book I found this pretty boring and hard to get into its my first by this author maybe I ll try another one by Betty neels A fine read true to the Betty Neels style I don t love how the doctor shows up right after she gets made redundant She should have at least made it home This was good but I felt no chemistry between the two main characters They spent very little time together and while we were able to be inside each of the characters heads when they realized that they loved the other I didn t believe either of them Araminta Pomfrey goes by Mintie has elderly scholarly parents who specialize in Celtic history and ignoring Mintie Mintie has spent the past few years working at a children s convalescent home and running the house But now an elderly cousin is coming to run the house and Mintie has decided to train as a nurse But first the local doctor has recommended Araminta as a temp nanny for a couple of archaeologists with twin boys while they are away The boys are to go to a maternal uncle who turns out to be Marcus van der Breugh our RDDAraminta is very good with kids she ll be a wonderful mum Much better than Christina Lutyns a somewhat mild VeronicaWell once the twins parents return Mintie enters nurse training but it doesn t work out for her Marcus arranges for her to leave and suggests aob as temporary matron at a pr. Araminta Pomfrey is finally about to pursue her dream to train as a nurse when she
